As part of its Country Strategy for Ukraine, Enabel supports the development of resilient, sustainable and energy-efficient systems that align with the country’s reconstruction priorities and its European integration path. The Lead Expert will play a strategic role in the design, implementation and monitoring of projects in infrastructure rehabilitation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy development.
> Provide strategic and technical leadership for Enabel’s infrastructure and energy portfolio in Ukraine.
> Design and develop project proposals in line with national recovery and reconstruction priorities.
> Ensure high-quality implementation, technical oversight, and compliance with sustainability and donor standards.
> Coordinate activities with national and local authorities, international partners and civil society stakeholders.
> Deliver capacity building and technical support to implementing partners and beneficiaries.
> Supervise and mentor junior technical staff and consultants.
> Contribute to knowledge management and innovative practices in infrastructure and energy programming.
> Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Energy Engineering, Infrastructure Planning or a related discipline.
> At least 8 years of professional experience in the infrastructure and/or energy sectors, including 5 years in international development cooperation.
> Solid technical understanding of energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies and sustainable infrastructure.
> Experience in post-conflict or reconstruction environments is highly desirable.
> Excellent command of English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of Ukrainian or another Slavic language is a strong asset. Proficiency in French or Dutch is considered an advantage.
> A 36-month contract in an inspiring international environment with real impact potential.
