Applications are now open for the fifth cohort of the Carbon to Value (C2V) Initiative

We are delighted to announce that applications are now open for the fifth cohort of the Carbon to Value (C2V) Initiative. The C2V Initiative, a collaboration between the Urban Future Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering (UFL), Greentown Labs, and Fraunhofer USA, supports start-ups seeking to swiftly commercialise and scale up carbontech innovations. Backed by the Carbontech Leadership Council (CLC)—an extensive network of industry leaders dedicated to advancing carbontech—this programme is proudly supported by CO₂ Value Europe, whose Secretary General, Anastasios Perimenis, represents the European organisation within the CLC.

Programme Benefits for Start-ups:

> A six-month accelerator featuring bespoke programming designed to support the advancement of carbontech ventures.
> Opportunities for collaboration and relationship-building with the C2V Initiative’s network of leading global corporations.
> Access to expert mentors and resources, including membership at the Greentown and/or UFL incubators.
> A stipend of $10,000 awarded to each selected start-up to facilitate participation in the programme.

The programme partners are particularly interested in carbontech innovations pertaining to the following areas:

> Carbon Conversion to Value-Added Products, including the transformation of CO₂ into fuels (such as sustainable aviation fuel and e-fuels), chemicals (for example, methanol and higher carbon products like C4+), and biomass-based or other waste-carbon solutions (such as chemical recycling, gasification, and biochar), as well as carbon mineralisation (for conversion into building materials, carbonates, and fertilisers).

> Carbon Capture, encompassing point-source capture (from energy and industrial emissions, hydrogen production, etc.), direct air capture (DAC), and gas-separation technologies (including purification and upgrading of biogas).

> Carbon Sequestration and Removal, incorporating enhanced mineralisation, ocean alkalinisation, and nature-based solutions (such as soil, forest, and marine interventions).

Further details regarding the programme and application process may be found at the following link: here. Kindly note that the deadline for applications is 29 August 2025.
