Claudia NECULAU is Project Coordinator at REMIND Wallonia, where she leads major European initiatives in circular materials management, brownfield rehabilitation, and landfill mining. With over fifteen years of experience in research and innovation project management, she has worked both in Wallonia and internationally (Romania, Albania, Ukraine, Moldova), establishing herself as a reference in mineral waste valorisation and the transformation of brownfields into resources. Her commitment is reflected in the coordination of projects such as RAWFILL, REGENERATIS, WASTES2CEM, and RECOB2, all aiming to integrate secondary materials into industrial processes while minimising their environmental impact.
Alexis DE MEY is the director of SODEA SRL, an environmental consultancy, and a permanent member of the Environment Cluster of the Economic and Social Council of Wallonia (CESE). A renowned consulting engineer, he advises public authorities, federations, and companies on the management of polluted soils, excavated earth, and industrial and construction waste. His sharp expertise on End-of-Waste status, CE2+ certification, and by-product recognition makes him a key player in implementing circularity in the materials sector. Advocating for an objective and independent approach, he actively contributes to regional strategy development and fosters dialogue between public and private stakeholders
A Workshop to Co-Create Material Circularity Under the guidance of Claudia and Alexis, the “End-of-Waste and Right Materials in the Right Place” workshop will bring together top-level speakers to discuss regulatory frameworks, technical innovations, and best practices in waste valorisation and the use of recycled materials.
